My family and I are permanent legal immigrants in the United States and we live in Alabama State.My wife and I have not been able to get any job yet.Because of that,we have not been able to take any health insurance policy yet.Our applications to get Medicaid and ALL KIDS for our 2 kids have been denied because our children are not US citizens. Our future child will be covered by BCBS (group plan). When I called, the rep stated you have 30 days after the birthdate to add the child. I then asked, if the child is born let’s say premature and they begin acruing individual medical bills from day one, will the health coverage added within 30 days cover the acrued medical bills?

My concern is about people who only have Medicaid, but not Medicare. At present SC Medicaid imposes a limit of 12 per fiscal year in the number of visits to the Doctor and a limit of 8 to the Chiropractic. Also there is a limit of 4 medicine prescriptions per month per patient.

Will the the Health Care Reform be the solution to these restrictions?
